This field trip was to the Living Treasures located in Donegal, PA. A very worthwhile trip! We enjoyed lunch together at Brady's restaurant afterwards.
Let's feed the camels! Jake and his mommy.
Madison and Payton enjoying our excursion.
Casey was not afraid to get right up to the animals and give them some food.
Nibble, nibble, crunch!
Payton learned to hold her hand flat, and she was loving feeding the deer!
The weather was very cool, and a slight drizzle was falling, but we made the best of it and had a great time regardless of the weather. Kids never seem to mind the weather anyway! It's just us silly adults who fuss.
Mr. Bison
Not sure what Jakey was trying to do here, but it looks like maybe a Power Ranger move on the bison.
Jake
Madison
Up close and personal with the feeding of the animals! I love that the children can get this close.
Feeding the zebras. Jake is putting food down the long tube, and the zebras know to retrieve the food at the end of the tube. I told the kids that God must have been having a silly day when he created the stripes on the zebras!
Payton, Madison and Mommy watching the zebras. Madison did not get an opportunity to see zebras at the family's trip to the zoo, so she was excited to see them here at Living Treasures.
This was adorable! The baby held onto its mommy for dear life. Not sure how old this baby is, but it sure looked very, very new.
The daddy was a food hog! He kept chasing the mommy away from the food and would not share. One of my student's mom made the humorous comment, "Just like real life. The mom takes care of the kids and the dad just sits back and eats." Funny!
Jake and Casey
Cute! Jake, Madison and Casey.
On to the goats!
Madison took to this baby goat right away and wanted me to get a picture of it, so I got several! It was really adorable. I hear that the time to visit Living Treasures is in the spring, when a lot of the babies are born!
This little goat was out wondering around. The kids kept asking how he got out! But they enjoyed him! And I think the goat enjoyed the kids, too.
"Hey, little girl, where's the food?" Payton!
Jake and Mr. Zebra
Casey riding a turtle! This one does not bite because it's not real!
This turtle can ride two people at one time!
The lions and tigers were awesome to see. They came right up to the glass! They got a little frisky, probably because of the cooler temps, and started playing. Their roars are quite loud!
